As we’ve driven around Austin this month we have seen a growing number of decorated trees along the right of way.
Getting pictures has been tough because most of the trees are on busy highways. This tree is a couple of blocks from us, and it showed up less than a week ago.
Apparently this started about half a dozen years ago on a section of 360, and it quickly spread. There is no coordinated effort here, just anonymous individuals decorating trees. Some are Charlie Brown specials, some have a good deal of time and money invested.
This is just part of Austin culture. Keeping Austin Weird!
