Day 294: Amish Sunset

We’ve spent the last week on a farm in the middle of Amish country. In the picture below you can just see our RV to the left of some grain silos and bales of alfalfa.

We’ve gone to the “Mennonite Walmart” (great selection and quality, better prices) and shared the roads with horse-drawn carts and carriages.

We’ve also explored all kinds of interesting shops and hit an Amish yardsale.

On Sunday, as we returned from a Mennonite church service, we passed a house where an Amish district was having it’s every other Sunday service.

We’ve learned a great deal this week including that much of what we thought we knew about the Amish was wrong.
