I won’t go so far as the signs advertising Mount Rushmore as “a life changing patriotic event” but it’s certainly bigger than life and very impressive. 

As is the case with most such things, completion cost twice as much as much money and time as initially estimated (final total 1 million and 14 years).

And a reminder of where we are headed.
